I’ve been remiss in writing about Italy (hope to start again soon), but I thought I’d post one of my favorite pictures from our last trip.
Being there two days after our election, it was cool for me seeing President Elect Obama’s pic on the magazines (not to mention the posters).

Your story cracked me up! I’d be wondering why people were talking about “Alabama” too! LOL
What Marta said. 🙂 I agree totally!
I had so much fun in Venice talking to people from all over the world who were truly overjoyed about Obama. I still can’t believe it really happened!
In Le Marche, a few weeks before the election, Marian and I couldn’t figure out why people wanted to talk to us about Alabama. It seemed strange for them to be fixated on one state that hasn’t really been in the news much recently … until we figured out that they were saying “il Obama”.
Great favorite choice! 37 more days now…I agree with June, not soon enough!
Ah, what a great sight to see! Soon..soon we’ll have him in office…but not soon enough for me!
Nice shot. Pizza, Rome and Obama – what could be better?
Love it! We were in Tangier the day after the election but did not have time to check the newspapers.
I actually framed a People magazine cover of Obama and put on my hallway wall…
