If you know me, you probably know I’m a fan of Donna Leon. She has 25 books in her Guido Brunetti series, The Waters of Eternal Youth being the 25th and I’ve read them all. There’s not much character development or growth over the course of these books and I’m not even sure how much time has actually elapsed but I don’t really care. I just love having the few hours that these books afford me to imagine I’m in Venice, having a cafe with Guido or dinner at his home, cooked by his wife Paola (my favorite parts). So if you ask me if this particular story was great? Or even good? I can’t answer, I can only tell you that I was as entertained as I always am when entering Leon’s Venice.
