Fatal Voyage is the fourth book in the Kathy Reichs series on which the television series bones is based. While I wasn’t crazy about Deja Dead, Death Du Jour and Deadly Decisions faired a bit better so, free from my library, it was a no brainer to give Fatal Voyage a try. I’m glad I did, so far, it’s my favorite off the series.
Spoiler Alert
Don’t get me wrong, Tempe still does some stupid things but not as stupid (really only one fateful decision that puts her in danger and I may have done the same thing), but I liked the way the author ended almost every chapter with a bit of a teaser as to what happened next. It propelled me through the book pretty quickly.
You may realize right off the bat that the incident that happened at the beginning of the book that sets the plot in motion would not happen today (we hope) but you must also realize that she wrote this book in a pre 9/11 world and even notes that in her afterward.
All that said, I enjoyed this story and will put the next book in the series on hold today.
